International Expansion Manager

Work Model

  • On-site Monday–Thursday in our Sofia office
  • Remote work on Friday
  • Flexible start and end times within the working day.

Your Role

Help drive Access Finance's international growth — from identifying attractive new markets to setting up local operations, partnerships, legal entities, and vendor ecosystems. Turn group strategy into local execution by launching regulated B2C lending and card products in new countries.

What You’ll Do:

Market Research & Business Development

  • Research and assess new markets, analyze competitive dynamics and customer needs
  • Support business case development for entry into new geographies
  • Contribute to shaping market entry strategy together with senior leadership.

Regulatory & Product Coordination

  • Work with group legal and compliance teams to evaluate licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Support product adaptation for local markets

Entity Setup & Market Launch

  • Coordinate the establishment of legal entities and local bank accounts in new markets
  • Assist in securing credit and/or card issuing licenses in cooperation with group legal and compliance

Vendor Management

  • Organize tender procedures and manage relationships with core partners — card/credit issuers, payment processors, collections agencies, and external legal and accounting firms

Operational Readiness & Team Setup

  • Coordinate development of SOPs for new markets
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of local management, and organize initial training with group HR
  • Play a key role in selecting and preparing local teams that will take over full market operations over time

External Representation

  • Represent Access Finance at international conferences and industry events
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in target markets.

YOUR PROFILE

  • 5+ years in B2C business development, market expansion, project management, or cross-border operations
  • Background in fintech, consumer lending, credit cards, payments, or regulated banking
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders — legal, compliance, product, finance, and operations
  • Exposure to vendor selection, tender procedures, and third-party management
  • Strong project management skills — able to move initiatives from concept to launch
  • Fluency in Bulgarian and English required; Spanish is a strong advantage
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
